Get Ready For Snakebite Season

Spring is here, the weather is warming up nicely, and everyone is coming out to enjoy it. Unfortunately that also includes the snakes that have been largely dormant over the winter.

As we move into snakebite season it’s important to make sure that you’re prepared to react quickly in an emergency. This goes double if you’re responsible for children or operate a workplace.

The law requires all workplaces to stock at least one first aid kit that contains the basic equipment to treat a range of injuries.

These include cuts, scratches, punctures, grazes, splinters, muscular sprains and strains, minor burns, amputations and/or major bleeding wounds, broken bones, eye injuries, and shock.

Even if the law doesn’t require that you have the supplies to treat these conditions on hand, it’s still a very good idea to have them. Emergencies can happen at any time, and it’s important to be able to respond to them quickly and effectively.
